It was finally going up today as I drove past - an amazing feat really as it only took over 2 years to work through the bureaucracy that goes with this - some women would have been able to have 2 kids with another on the way and all we are trying to do is let people know there is a jewel of a beach here at Waihi Beach.

After 56 years of coming to Waihi Beach (and only missing 3 Christmases in that time),it is great to see a quality sign up to show off our beautiful beach.I always check the webcams too and would love to see the surf club one focus on the water and headland and not on the strip of sand out front.We have just spent Easter at the beach with a group of Polish people and they were blown away with the beauty of our special beach!!Hope the weather has cleared for you all ...
